Screaming Babies

We were dining at a restaurant this evening. As we were deep into our conversation an ear-piercing, nail-on-chalkboard screech/scream vibrated through the restaurant. This happens for at least five more times...coming from what looked like a one year old baby. I love babies...will want to have two. But I couldn't help but get annoyed at the fact that the parents of this baby continued to dine while they baby is disturbing every other patron in the restaurant. We could no longer hold a conversation at that point. At what point should the parents take the baby out for a walk? At what point do their rights to dine there with their baby out-weighs the rights of other diners for a peaceful meal? I think I would've taken my screaming baby outside after the second scream. I think there will be many sacrifices once a couple becomes a parent. I think dining out at fancy restaurants with our baby will be one of those sacrifices. For those evenings out, I think a baby sitter may be warranted.
